Having lived on the beautiful island of O‘ahu for the past 30 years, I am highly familiar with the neighborhoods of Honolulu. I thoroughly enjoy working with my real estate clients to successfully meet the challenges that they face in our unique Hawaii market. Selling? Considering an investment property? Relocating? Let me help you find what you're looking for!
My Background
My formal training and education is in the life sciences, but my world now is all about homes. In the footsteps of my father, a Pennsylvania real estate broker, I joined the real estate industry in 2007 and currently hold a broker’s license, too. Negotiating for my clients, I am committed to serving people with their home ownership, property sales, and investment needs. A graduate of Ursinus College in Pennsylvania (B.S. Biology, 1980), and the University of Hawaii at Manoa School of Public Health (M.S. 1988), I spent many years teaching life sciences at Maryknoll Schools. I pursued an advanced degree in the field of molecular biology at the University of Hawaii in the College of Tropical Agriculture and was awarded a Ph.D. in 2005. An educator at heart, I strive to empower my clientele with the knowledge, tools, and information that will help them to make effective decisions and achieve their goals.
In this spirit, I have earned my Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation with the Council of Residential Specialists, that is held by only 4% of REALTORS® in the U.S. Committed to excellence, I continue to take CRS educational courses relating to finance, marketing, sales, and technology to remain competitive in my profession and to better serve my clients. I hold active memberships in the national and local chapters of CRS, as well as the Hawaii Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®. In 2023, I earned a Master of Science in Law degree from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law., with focuses in intellectual property, regulation, and business law.
I served as a Director for the Honolulu Board of Realtors from 2012 to 2016. As a member of the Hawaii International Real Estate Council (HIREC), I traveled to Japan and Hong Kong on a trades mission in 2014 to forge relationships with and understand the for needs of our international clientele, and am returning this June for follow-up meetings. Locally, I am involved in our Portlock Community Association.
Born in the historical city of Philadelphia, PA, my husband Larry and I have lived in Honolulu for 40 years and have raised three terrific children. We are thoroughly enjoying the empty nest, play golf, and enjoy discovering new restaurants. I support the Domestic Violence Action Center (DVAC), and have served on their golf fundraising committee for many years. For fun, I have participated in the amateur athletic circuit on O'ahu, and have successfully competed in various triathlon events and fundraisers in which I swim, bike, and run to stay healthy. In addition, I study Italian, and love to travel to Italy.
Whatever your real estate needs, I will truly enjoy finding your next home or place of business. You can count on me to go the distance to meet your real estate challenges.
